This is most welcome news, thank you for stepping up! This is my *third* separate reading of Christian related pushback in three days, hopefully swelling into resistance, against this Orwellian 'administration'. Some of it has involved *Democratic* lawmakers, for once.

It is also encouraging to note that even many professing Christian nationalists are opposed or at least wary of legislating and oppressing Christians. I do know some people in my church who probably did not vote as I did, that have shown they are reasonable and will listen. I'm encouraged by that, and by the poll numbers you shared.

Great piece. God be with you, and us all.

Amen Wayne. It's important to stay in conversation with Trump voters who are willing to listen. As things grow more extreme we may pull some our way and pressure Congress to show more courage, pull enough voters into our camp for midterms.

I think the Founding Fathers would be horrified at what is happening in politics today. Indeed, George Washington cautioned against “factions” precursors to political parties. Most of them were not Christians. Several were deists, believing in the existence of God, but not God acting in human affairs. In fact, Jefferson created his own Bible, cutting out the miracles and other parts he didn’t like. He even told the Barbary pirates that America was a secular not a Christian nation. They wanted a buffer between the state and religion. Such a buffer protects people from the zealots in both camps.

I’ve been waiting for Christian churches to come together on this. We need a viral national prayer time with good true Christians to express their concerns over this scary Christian Nationalism which is just white supremacy in disguise. Thank you for this !

What a great vision! When Trump was elected the first time, I hosted a prayer call, which drew 1,000 people (pre-zoom and FB live—not easy). It was beautiful, every faith represented. We did one on Jan. 6, 2020. So important!

There is a page on the White House website about this Task Force. Right out of George Orwell. Thank you for standing up and speaking out.

I’m glad to see at least some of the churches standing up and speaking out. What tRump is doing is despicable and as unchristian as it gets. These people aren’t Christians.

As I recall in reading the Bible, Jesus never forced anyone to follow Him. He has said, 'Whosoever will...'

Jesus always gave people the choice to follow, or not to follow Him.

These people are the complete antithesis of true Christianity…if Jesus was on earth now, they would deport him!

That’s horseshit, they are evil Christian nationalists. They’ll applaud the republican Nazis stepping on our necks every day of the week.

Followers of Christ need only read his Gospel in the New Testament to understand that its heresy to teach bigotry, misogyny, and hatred in his name.

They are leaving The American Taliban Movement that follows Trump, who’s the closest match for the Anti-Christ in the 2000+ year’s since it was penned.

It’s just damn silly. Think back to the Spanish Inquisition…..any fond thoughts there? Did they strengthen people’s faith of create doubt, fear, confusion….maybe antipathy? Trump is lost. He is creating a world of paranoia and propaganda.
